In March of 2017 Genshin Kan Dojo began running Jujitsu classes at Wirksworth Leisure Centre on Thursday evenings from 6pm to 7.30pm. Fifteen to twenty people regularly attend the classes and the ages of students range from six to some in their fifties. Genshin Kan Dojo has an experienced number of Sensei (teachers) with six black belts including Jim Rooney (6th Dan), David Hopkinson, Philip Derbyshire and Sinead Gowdey (all third Dan). The Dojo currently also has two brown belts who are working hard towards their black belts.

Genshin Kan Dojo is an affiliated member of the Dai Nippon Butoku Kai (DNBK), an organisation based in Kyoto and authorised by the Japanese government in 1895 to promote and preserve traditional Japanese Budo or martial arts.
